Supernatural star Jensen Ackles has been confirmed for season 3 of The Boys.

The second season of The Boys will land on Amazon Video next month. With the second season finished and ready to go, plans are already being made for season three. One of the exciting developments to have been confirmed is that Supernatural star Jenson Ackles has been added to the cast.

Ackles will be playing Soldier Boy, a character described as “the original superhero” who fought in World War II. Sounds familiar? It seems that Soldier Boy will be the show’s take on Marvel’s Captain America.

Speaking about the casting, The Boys showrunner and executive producer and the Supernatural creator Eric Kripke said in a statement: “When I was a child, I had a crazy, impossible dream—to provide Jensen Ackles with gainful employment.

“I’m happy to say that dream has come true. Jensen is an amazing actor, an even better person, smells like warm chocolate chip cookies, and I consider him a brother.

He added: “As Soldier Boy, the very first Superhero, he’ll bring so much humor, pathos, and danger to the role. I can’t wait to be on set with him again, and bring a bit of Supernatural to The Boys.”

Season two of The Boys will land on Amazon Video on September 4.
