SZA has been breaking records left and right since dropping her sophomore album SOS and she’s showing no signs of stopping. The record hit No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart for its six consecutive week, setting several major milestones in its wake.

SOS returned to No. 1 with 119,000 equivalent album units earned in the U.S. during its latest week on the chart. This marks its sixth week atop the Billboard 200—it initially debuted at No. 1 with 318,000 equivalent album units sold, becoming SZA’s first album to achieve this feat.

SOS is the first album by a woman with six weeks atop the chart since Adele’s 30. SZA joins Adele and Taylor Swift as the only female artist with six or more weeks atop the Billboard 200 in over a decade, since Susan Boyle’s debut effort I Dreamed a Dream in 2010.

SOS is also the first R&B album by a woman to top the chart for its first six weeks in three decades. Janet Jackson was the last artist to accomplish this feat with her album janet. in 1993.

SZA released SOS on December 9, 2022, and it’s currently the longest-running No. 1 album of 2022 released by a female artist. “Kill Bill” was recently released as the album’s fifth single and it currently sits at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
