After starring in Under the Banner of Heaven by each other’s side, Andrew Garfield and Daisy Edgar-Jones are gearing up for another collaboration. The duo landed lead roles in Sebastian Lelio’s next film Voyagers about Carl Sagan and Ann Druyan.

Voyagers will kick off in 1977 when NASA’s team led by Sagan embarked on a quest to create the Voyager Golden Record, the records of sounds and images meant to portray the diversity of life and culture on Earth.

Sagan and Druyan worked together on this project and later went on to film a television series Cosmos: A Personal Voyage by each other’s side, before getting married in 1981.

Lelio will direct the film from a screenplay he wrote alongside Jessica Goldberg, drawing inspiration from interviews with Druyan and many others who worked on the Golden Record project. The film will hit global sales at the Cannes Market this month, with Druyan serving as a producer alongside Ben Browning and Lynda Obst.

This won’t mark the first collaboration between Garfield and Edgar-Jones. The duo received acclaim for their roles in Hulu’s Under the Banner of Heaven, and Garfield even scored his first Emmy nods for his performance in this mini-series.

If you’ve ever wondered what Guillermo Del Toro’s version of Frankenstein would look like, we’ve got some good news for you! The acclaimed director is plotting the adaptation of the classic horror story with Andrew Garfield, Oscar Isaac, and Mia Goth in the lead roles.

Guillermo Del Toro is fresh off the success of his Oscar-winning animated film Pinocchio, and he’s set his eye on several new projects. Shortly after it was announced he was working on the animated adaptation of Kazuo Ishiguro’s The Buried Giant, it turned out he was planning to bring another great novel to the screen.

Toro’s Frankenstein is in the early stages of development and he’s still working on the script at Netflix. Garfield, Isaac, and Goth are yet to get formal offers, but it’s been reported that Del Toro met with all three and they all expressed interest to star in this project.

Frankenstein is one of Del Toro’s passion projects and he wanted to direct it since he was a child. He’s been plotting this film for years, but was never in the hurry to get it done, telling Digital Spy, “You have one shot in your lifetime at these things and I don’t want to do it the wrong way.”

Everyone was hoping Florence Pugh and Andrew Garfield would star in a movie together after seeing them present at the Oscars, and they’re making it happen! The Oscar-nominated duo found their next project in a StudioCanal love story We Live in Time.

The film is based on Nick Payne’s script, and John Crowley is coming on board as a director. We Live in Time has been described as a funny, deeply moving, and immersive love story, but plot details are still being kept under wraps.

StudioCanal and Sunny March are producing the project, with Leah Clarke, Adam Ackland, and Guy Heeley serving as producers, while Benedict Cumberbatch will be credited as executive producer.

Pugh led the psychological thriller Don’t Worry Darling and period drama The Wonder last year, and she adds We Live in Time to her already busy schedule. We’ll soon get to see her in Zach Braff’s A Good Person and she’ll later appear in two of the most anticipated films of the year—Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer and Denis Villeneuve’s Dune: Part Two.

As for Garfield, he’s fresh off the success of his Oscar-nominated turn in Tick…Tick…Boom! and his Emmy-nominated performance in Under the Banner of Heaven, which marked his first major television role.

Adam Garfield is set to continue his practice of portraying real-life characters on screen.

Over the last year, Garfield has stepped into the shoes of Rent creator Jonathan Larson in the Netflix film Tick… Tick… Boom!, as well as televangelist Jim Bakker in The Eyes of Tammy Faye. His most recently announced role may be his most famous yet.

The Spider-Man: No Way Home actor is set to star as Sir Richard Branson in an upcoming limited series. Branson is best known for having founded the Virgin Group and has an estimated worth of $5.7 billion.

The 6-part series will be based on the book Dirty Tricks which chronicled the battle between Branson’s Virgin Atlantic Airways and British Airways. In an attempt to smother their competition in 1994, BA published a negative article about Virgin, for which Branson sued them for libel. An out-of-court settlement awarded the entrepreneur £3.5 million.

The limited series has been dubbed Hot Air and will be helmed by David Leitch who directed Deadpool 2. It will mark Garfield’s return to acting as he stated earlier this year that he planned to take a break.

If your only complaint about Spider-Man: No Way Home is that you wish it was longer, we’ve got some good news for you! The smash-hit Marvel movie is coming back to theatres this fall, and it will feature added and extended scenes that we’ve never seen before.

The re-release of the hit movie will celebrate 60 years of Spider-Man comic book and 20 years of Spider-Man on film. It will hit the theatres under the name Spider-Man: No Way Home – The More Fun Stuff Version on Labor Day weekend, starting on September 2.

The extended version will be shown in the US and Canada, but more countries are expected to be added soon. The official run-time of this project remains a mystery, but the original movie was 148 minutes long.

Spider-Man: No Way Home introduced the concept of the multiverse in the MCU, and brought back many heroes and villains from the previous movies, including former Spider-Man actors Andrew Garfield, and Tobey Maguire.

Spider-Man: No Way Home made quite a splash when it hit the theatres in December last year, and it went on to earn $1.9 billion worldwide. It’s already the sixth-highest grossing film worldwide and the third-highest-grossing film domestically, but it could soar even higher following the release of the extended version.

It’s the official trailer for Tick, Tick… Boom!

With six weeks to go until its release, Netflix has revealed the film’s first full-length trailer, as well as the artwork, and the song “30/90” from the soundtrack.

Tick, Tick… Boom! tells the autobiographical story of Jonathan Larson, the struggling writer who went on to create the theatrical masterpiece Rent. Although Larson initially performed Tick, Tick… Boom! as a one-man show, it was further adapted for stage (and now screen) after his death.

The Amazing Spider-Man star, Andrew Garfield, has stepped into the writer’s shoes and can be seen both singing and playing the piano in the trailer.

The film is helmed by Lin-Manuel Miranda who is no stranger to the theatre (hello, Hamilton!) but is making his feature film directorial debut.

2021 will be another benchmark year for Lin-Manuel Miranda, who’s making his feature directorial debut with tick, tick…BOOM! This explosive musical is coming to Netflix this fall, but it will have its premiere at AFI Fest before the rest of the world gets to see it.

tick, tick…BOOM! is based on Jonathan Larson’s semi-autobiographical musical of the same name and it centers on an aspiring theatre composer, played by Andrew Garfield, as he tries to endure the pressure of life as an artist in New York City.

In addition to announcing tick, tick…BOOM! as the opening film, AFI president and CEO, Bob Gazzale, also confirmed that the Hollywood icon Julie Andrews is set to receive the AFI Life Achievement Award at this year’s edition of the festival.

“AFI Fest will remind the world the power of this art form to lift our spirits at a time we need it most. Opening with the imperative voice of Lin-Manuel Miranda and celebrating the joy that Julie Andrews has provided generations will set our sights on a brighter day—just like in the movies,” said Gazzale in a statement.
