]]>Barbie was the most-nominated movie of the night with eight nods, and it walked away with five awards, including the movie of the year prize. It was also named the comedy movie of the year, while its stars Ryan Gosling, Margot Robbie, and America Ferrera all won awards in their respective categories.
Taylor Swift led the way in the music categories with four wins, including the coveted female artist of the year award. She also won trophies for the pop artist of the year, the social celebrity of the year, and the concert tour of the year with The Eras Tour.
As for the TV field, The Kardashians, The Last of Us, and Only Murders in the Building topped the list of winners with two awards each. Despite their huge success, they failed to win the night’s shiniest trophy—the show of the year—which went to Grey’s Anatomy.
The 2024 People’s Choice Awards were held at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California on February 18, with Simu Liu hosting the ceremony.

]]>The post 2024 Academy Awards: “Oppenheimer” & “Poor Things” Lead Nominations appeared first on EverydayKoala.
]]>Oppenheimer is one of the front-runners for the best picture award, where it will be competing against American Fiction, Anatomy of a Fall, Barbie, The Holdovers, Killers of the Flower Moon, Maestro, Past Lives, Poor Things, and The Zone of Interest.
Nolan is in the running for best director, while the film’s stars Cillian Murphy, Emily Blunt, and Robert Downey Jr. received nods in their respective acting categories. Oppenheimer also received multiple nominations on the technical side, from best cinematography to best editing.
Poor Things’ Yorgos Lanthimos and Flower Moon’s Martin Scorsese are also among contenders for the best director along with Justine Triet for Anatomy of a Fall and Jonathan Glazer for The Zone of Interest.
The list of major contenders at this year’s Oscars will also include Maestro with seven nods and Barbie with eight, despite the fact its director Greta Gerwig and leading lady Margot Robbie were shockingly snubbed for best director and best lead actress.

]]>The post Ryan Gosling Releases EP With Several “I’m Just Ken” Remixes appeared first on EverydayKoala.
]]>Gosling was recently spotted leaving the studio with the producer Mark Ronson, and we finally know what they’ve been up to. It turns out that Gosling was working on new versions of the beloved Barbie song, including the “Merry Kristmas Barbie” remix, released as a part of Ken the EP featuring a total of four songs.
Teaming up with Gosling again was a no-brainer for Ronson, since he was impressed by his work ethic and musical talent when they recorded the original version.
“He really got [that] it had to walk this line of not being funny or parody. But obviously, the song is also kind of ridiculous at times. So he was really amazing, and when he really did start hitting the big notes, I was like, ‘This dude is a vocal powerhouse!’” Ronson told Vanity Fair.
Ken the EP is most likely a part of the song’s ongoing Oscar camping. This track is one of the main contenders for the best original song at the Academy Awards after it received Grammy and Golden Globe nominations in the same field.

]]>The post Anne Hathaway Reflects on Her “Barbie” Movie That Never Was appeared first on EverydayKoala.
]]>The Oscar-winner was one of the actresses in the running to play Barbie when Sony Pictures was developing a movie back in 2017. Alethea Jones was supposed to direct it, but this plan eventually fell through, and Hathaway moved on to other projects, including her recent film Eileen.
Hathaway reflected on her Barbie movie during a recent appearance on Josh Horowitz’s Happy Sad Confused podcast and said she has no regrets about not playing this character. She praised the team behind Greta Gerwig’s Barbie for hitting a bullseye with their adaptation, which went on to become the highest-grossing film of 2023.
Hathaway also said that its leading lady Margot Robbie was “just sublime” in the film, and praised her work both in front and behind the camera, as one of the film’s producers.
“Just as a cinema-goer and just as a woman in Hollywood since I was a kid, I’m thrilled by the development. If I believed that the version I was attached to could have done that, yeah, I might feel differently about it, but I genuinely think their [film] was the best possible version,” said Hathaway.

As for Oppenheimer, Christopher Nolan’s WWII epic is in the running for best drama, along with Anatomy of a Fall, Killers of the Flower Moon, Maestro, Past Lives, and The Zone of Interest. It received a total of eight nods, including acting nominations for its stars Cillian Murphy, Emily Blunt, and Robert Downey Jr.
HBO’s Succession made the Golden Globes history and became the most-nominated show in a single year with nine nods. It owes most of its nominations to its amazing cast, with Brian Cox, Jeremy Strong, Kieran Culkin, Sarah Snook, Matthew Macfadyen, Alan Ruck, Alexander Skarsgård, and J. Smith-Cameron all receiving acting nods for their respective performances.
The 2024 Golden Globe Awards will take place at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills on January 7, and the ceremony will air live on CBS.

]]>The post Zach Snyder Reveals How He Felt About the “Justice League” Joke in “Barbie” appeared first on EverydayKoala.
]]>The joke in question was delivered by Alexandra Shipp’s Writer Barbie after she recovered from a hypnotic state all Barbies were in after Ken brought the patriarchy to Barbieland. She said, “It’s like I’ve been in a dream where I was really invested in the Zack Snyder Cut of Justice League,” and this line became an instant hit.
Some of Snyder’s fans weren’t on board with the joke, but the director himself didn’t feel the same way. He recently told Men’s Health that he enjoyed Barbie and said that the Justice League joke was pretty good, adding it felt special to be referenced in this hit film.
“The thing that you need to take a second and think about is that your name is so seamlessly sewed together with a pop culture phenomenon so big it can exist as a joke in a movie about Barbie. That’s pretty insane,” said Snyder.
Zack Snyder’s Justice League was released on HBO MAX following the viral “Release the Snyder Cut” campaign on social media after Joss Whedon took control over the original 2017 film. Snyder later partnered up with Netflix and released several films on this streaming service, including the upcoming Rebel Moon.

The 96th Academy Awards will take place on March 10 at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, with Jimmy Kimmel hosting ABC’s live broadcast.
