“I’m Just Ken” created quite a commotion when it was released ahead of the Barbie premiere this summer, and the craze for this song isn’t over just yet! Ryan Gosling released Ken the EP with four versions of this catchy bop, including the festive Christmas remix.

Gosling was recently spotted leaving the studio with the producer Mark Ronson, and we finally know what they’ve been up to. It turns out that Gosling was working on new versions of the beloved Barbie song, including the “Merry Kristmas Barbie” remix, released as a part of Ken the EP featuring a total of four songs.

Teaming up with Gosling again was a no-brainer for Ronson, since he was impressed by his work ethic and musical talent when they recorded the original version.

“He really got [that] it had to walk this line of not being funny or parody. But obviously, the song is also kind of ridiculous at times. So he was really amazing, and when he really did start hitting the big notes, I was like, ‘This dude is a vocal powerhouse!’” Ronson told Vanity Fair.

Ken the EP is most likely a part of the song’s ongoing Oscar camping. This track is one of the main contenders for the best original song at the Academy Awards after it received Grammy and Golden Globe nominations in the same field.
