With 227,000 equivalent album units earned following its release on March 8, Eternal Sunshine easily soared to the top of the Billboard 200 chart. It’s Grande’s sixth studio album to do so, and it scored the largest week of 2024 for any album so far.

Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas (Is You)” hit No. 1 every holiday season in the past four years, and it’s back on top again! The beloved holiday classic is ruling the Billboard Hot 100 chart for the unprecedented fifth holiday season, dethroning Brenda Lee’s “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree”.

Carey reclaimed her “Queen of Christmas” crown after “All I Want for Christmas” drew 42.2 million streams, 26.1 million radio airplay audience impressions, and sold 8,000 downloads during its latest week on the chart. Its Hot 100 standing has as been significantly boosted by the recent release of the “Festive Lambs Edition” music video.

This is the fifth consecutive year that “All I Want for Christmas” spent the holiday season at No. 1. This also marks its 13th week on the Billboard Hot 100, helping Carey tie Boyz II Men as the only other artists with three songs atop the Hot 100 for 13 or more weeks.

“All I Want for Christmas” is the second holiday song to top the chart this season, following Brenda Lee’s “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree”, which spent two weeks at no. 1 after climbing to the top 65 years after its release.

Brenda Lee gave us one of the timeless holiday classics with “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree”, and she’s finally getting credit where credit is due! This song topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart 65 years after its release, making Lee the oldest person to hit No. 1 on this US chart.

Brenda Lee was only 13 years old when she recorded “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree”, but that didn’t stop this holiday anthem from becoming an instant classic. The song was originally released in 1958, but it experienced renewed popularity in recent years, especially after Lee agreed to film a new music video this November.

After occupying the No. 2 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for the past four years, behind “All I Want for Christmas Is You” by Mariah Carey, Lee’s smash hit finally climbed to No. 1 this week. The veteran singer set several Hot 100 records along the way, becoming the oldest artist to top the chart at 78.

Lee discussed her success with Variety, and credited her team and her fans for helping “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” reach new heights.

“I have wonderful, wonderful fans that have been with me from the first time I opened my mouth to sing, and they’ve stayed with me, and everybody’s been loyal, and I’m more happy for them than I am for me. You can’t keep a good song down,” she told Variety.

Jack Harlow made quite a splash with his latest single “Lovin On Me” and the Billboard Hot 100 finally reflects his success. The rapper’s latest single climbed to No. 1 during its second week on the chart, becoming Harlow’s third No. 1 single in the United States.

“Lovin On Me” initially debuted at No. 2, behind Taylor Swift’s “Cruel Summer”, but quickly climbed to the top spot. It attracted 23.6 million streams, 20.8 million radio airplay audience impressions, and sold 11,000 downloads during its latest week on the chart.

Harlow celebrated the news by sharing the screenshot of Chart Data’s report that he hit No. 1 on Instagram and captioned it with the words, “Warming up. More coming.” He’s yet to reveal if “Lovin On Me” will be a part of any future albums or EPs, but it wasn’t included on his latest studio album Jackman, which came out back in April.

As for the rest of the Billboard Hot 100 for this week, former chart-topping hits “Cruel Summer” by Taylor Swift and “Paint the Town Red” by Doja Cat took the No. 2 and No. 3 spot. Several holiday classics, including Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You” and Brenda Lee’s “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” made it to the top 10, and so did Tyla’s viral hit “Water”.

Taylor Swift’s “Is It Over Now?” debuted atop the Billboard Hot 100 just last week, but it didn’t stay there for too long. Swift managed to replace herself at No. 1 just a week later and returned to the top spot on the Hot 100 chart with “Cruel Summer”.

“Cruel Summer” attracted 77.8 million radio airplay audience impressions, 13.8 million streams, and sold 4,000 downloads during its latest week on the Hot 100. It marks its third week at No. 1 this year, which is quite an achievement considering this song was released as a part of Swift’s 2019 album Lover and experienced a resurgence in popularity thanks to The Eras Tour.

“Cruel Summer” replaces Swift’s own “Is It Over Now?” atop the Billboard Hot 100, making her the only artist apart from the K-pop band BTS to replace herself atop the No. 1 only to directly return to the top spot with the first chart leader one week later.

Swift was in pretty good company on the Billboard Hot 100 chart this week, with several amazing songs debuting in the top 10. Jung Kook’s “Standing Next to You” debuted at No. 5, while The Beatless scored their record-extending 35th top ten singles as “Now and Then” entered the chart at No. 7.

Taylor Swift’s song “Cruel Summer” experienced an amazing resurgence in recent months, and the Billboard Hot 100 finally reflects its viral success. The fan-favorite hit from Swift’s album Lover soared to No. 1 four years after its release, becoming her tenth song in the United States to do so.

“Cruel Summer” topped the Billboard Hot 200 chart after drawing in 77.8 million radio airplay audience impressions, 18.6 million streams, and selling 41,000 downloads during its most recent week on the chart. This is quite a big deal considering it’s been four years since this song was originally released as a part of Swift’s seventh studio album Lover.

There are several factors that contributed to the renaissance of “Cruel Summer”, starting with Swift’s ongoing The Eras Tour. The song gained new prominence as Swift performed it live night after night, and it was used in countless viral videos on social media all summer long. The singer eventually decided to send it to contemporary hit radio as the fifth single from Lover.

Swift previously told iHeartRadio that this song was meant to capture the energy of a summer romance that can be layered with many different feelings.

“It deals with the idea of being in a relationship where there’s some element of desperation and pain in it, where you’re yearning for something that you don’t quite have yet, it’s just right there, and you just can’t reach it,” she explained.

We can count on Drake to break new records every time he shares a new album with the world, and he’s done it once again! The rapper’s latest album For All the Dogs made quite a splash on the Billboard charts and produced his 13th No. 1 hit, tying him with Michael Jackson.

Following its release on October 6, For All the Dogs easily debuted atop the Billboard 200 chart with 402,000 album-equivalent units, becoming his 13th album to do so. He’s only one album away from surpassing Jay-Z, but the all-time record is still held by The Beatles with 19 No. 1 albums in the US.

Drake also made quite a splash on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, with all 23 songs from his latest album debuting on the Billboard Hot 100. Seven of them managed to make it to the top ten, including “First Person Shooter” ft. J. Cole, which became his 13th chart-leader.

Drake is now tied with Michael Jackson for the most No. 1 hits among solo male artists, but The Beatles (20), Mariah Carey (19), and Rihanna (14) are still ahead of them. For All the Dogs also helped Drake become the first artist with over 300 Billboard Hot 100 entries with a total of 320.

Doja Cat set several Spotify records with her smash hit “Paint the Town Red”, and it was just a matter of time before this catchy bop hit No. 1. This song finally reached the peak of the Billboard Hot 100, becoming the rapper’s first solo single and second overall to top the chart.

“Paint the Town Red” attracted 32.1 million radio airplay audience impressions, 27.7 million streams, and 8,000 downloads during its most recent week on the chart. It took it about a month to reach the top, after it initially debuted at No. 15 following its release on August 4.

“Paint the Town Red” marks Doja Cat’s first solo single to reach no. 1 in the US and second overall. She previously hit No. 1 with the “Say So” remix featuring Nicki Minaj. This viral track also happens to be the first rap song to reach the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart in over a year, since Nicki Minaj’s “Super Freaky Girl” in August last year.

“Pain the Town Red” was released as the second single from Doja Cat’s upcoming album Scarlet. It will hit the shelves on September 22 and feature a total of 15 songs, including previously released singles “Attention” and “Demons”.

Travis Scott’s new album Utopia was a long time coming, and it lived up to the hype. The rapper’s long-awaited fourth studio album easily debuted atop the Billboard 200 chart and made the Hot 100 history after all of its 19 tracks made it to this chart.

After the five-year-long wait, Utopia hit the shelves on July 28 and it didn’t take it long to soar to the top of the Billboard 200 chart. It debuted at No. 1 with 496,000 album-equivalent units earned, including 243,000 in SEA units after scoring the second-biggest streaming week for an album in 2023 with 330.68 million on-demand official streams.

Utopia’s album sales were just as impressive, and it scored the year’s second-largest week in album sales with 252,000 copies sold. Vinyl sales comprise 79,000 of the total sales, making Utopia the best-selling R&B/hip-hop vinyl album since Luminate started tracking sales in 1991.

All 19 tracks from Utopia charted on the Billboard Hot 100, helping Scott make history along the way. He brought his total of Hot 100 hits from 93 to 111, becoming just the 15th artist in history with 100-plus career entries on the chart. “K-Pop” ft. Bad Bunny and The Weeknd hit No. 7 after being released as the album’s first single, while “Meltdown” ft. Drake and “FE!N,” ft. Playboi Carti made it to the top five this week.
