Only a few days after it was reported that Spears was working with Charlie XCX on her new album, Spears took to social media to clear the air and say she’s not plotting her comeback.

“Just so we’re clear most of the news is trash!!! They keep saying I’m turning to random people to do a new album… I will never return to the music industry!!! When I write, I write for fun or I write for other people!!!” wrote Spears.

She also revealed that she prefers ghostwriting music for other artists instead of working on her own, adding she’s written over 20 songs for other people in the past two years.

Britney Spears hasn’t released a new album since Glory in 2016, which produced singles “Make Me” and “Slumber Party”. Despite not working on new music while fighting to get out of her conservatorship, Spears collaborated with Elton John on the song “Hold Me Closer” in 2022 and will.i.am on “Mind Your Business” just last year.

After five years of dating, Spears and Asghari got engaged in 2021, and the singer confirmed their engagement by sharing a photo of her ring on social media. They got married in June last year at Spears’ California home, and Asghari signed a prenuptial agreement to protect Spears’ fortune, estimated at t approximately $60 million at the time.

The news of their split was followed by an avalanche of rumors, claiming that Asghari was intending to challenge the prenup. His rep Brandon Cohen dismissed those claims, while Asghari released a statement asking everyone to be “kind and thoughtful” during this difficult time.

It has been announced that a musical based on songs by Britney Spears will hit the big stage next year. Entitled Once Upon a One More Time, it features classics like “Oops I Did It Again,” “Lucky,” “Circus,” and “Toxic.”

The show was previously held at the Shakespeare Theatre Company in Washington, D.C. where it had a sold-out run, prompting its move to New York City. Previews are set to begin May 13 at the Marquis Theatre, with tickets going on sale starting on December 5.

The musical follows a group of fairy tale characters who haven’t actually found their happily ever after. The description on the show’s official website reads: “Every fortnight, when our storybook heroines gather for book club, they always discuss the same book, Grimm’s Fairy Tales — because as far as they know, it’s the only book that’s ever been written. That’s when a rogue fairy godmother drops The Feminine Mystique into their corseted laps. From now on, ‘happily ever after’ will never be the same. Although Britney herself isn’t associated with the production, she previously declared it “a dream come true” to have a musical based on her song catalog.

Rumors were doing the rounds that Elton John and Britney Spears were collaborating on a song and it has now been confirmed as true. Initial reports claimed that the pair had been secretly recording a version of Elton’s track from 1972, “Tiny Dancer”.

“Britney was in the studio in Beverly Hills last week with Elton for the super-secret recording session overseen by uber-producer Andrew Watt,” stated a source.

The story was corroborated by Spears’ friend, Paris Hilton, who was quoted as saying, “It’s gonna be iconic. I just heard it a few days ago in Ibiza and it is… it’s insane.”

John recently collaborated with Dua Lipa on “Cold Heart” which featured snippets of the “Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me” singer’s singles “Rocket Man”, “Sacrifice”, ”Kiss the Bride”, and “Where’s the Shoorah?” It became John’s first UK number-one single in 16 years.

It appears as though Britney and Elton’s track will follow suit. The song has been titled “Hold Me Closer” which is a line in “Tiny Dancer”. It will mark Spears’ return to music since 2016 when she dropped her ninth studio album, Glory.

The couple’s wedding was an intimate affair in Los Angeles, with just 60 of their friends and family members in attendance. Amongst those who watched the fitness model and “Toxic” singer say “I do” were Madonna, Paris Hilton, Selena Gomez, and Drew Barrymore.

Britney’s mother, father, and sister were not present at the event following the recent legal dispute regarding the artist’s conservatorship. In November, Britney was able to finally terminate the conservatorship which had been involuntarily placed under by her family 13 years ago.

This is, of course, not the 40-year-old singer’s first marriage. She was previously married to Kevin Federline with whom she shares sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James. Unfortunately, the teenagers didn’t make it to the ceremony.

The singer’s childhood friend, Jason Alexander, to whom she was married for 55 hours, attempted to crash the wedding, leading to his arrest. Luckily, neither the wedding party nor the guests seemed to be at the venue at the time.

This is surely the third time lucky. Congratulations to the newlyweds!

Spears announced the engagement on Instagram on Sunday after the two have been dating for over four years. They were first romantically linked after meeting on the set of Spears’ “Slumber Party” music video in 2016.

Asghari’s manager Brandon Cohen confirmed to PEOPLE he is “proud to celebrate and confirm the engagement.”

“The couple made their long-standing relationship official today and are deeply touched by the support, dedication and love expressed to them,” said Cohen.

Back in March during an interview with Forbes, the Ashgari opened up about his relationship with the singer admitting he was ready to take the next step.

“My priorities in life are to remain humble and understand where I came from and where I’m going,” he said “I want to take my career to the next step when it comes to acting. I want to take my relationship to the next step, as well. I don’t mind becoming a father. I want to be a young dad.”

According to BAFTA-winning journalist Mobeen Azhar, who’s developing the documentary under the working title Britney, this project will tap into the energy of #FreeBritney movement and examine the industry, fandom, and legal system that put the singer in her current position.

“I went to L.A. in search of the truth of how Britney Spears, one of the biggest pop stars on the planet, ended up in a conservatorship. I found myself in a world of lawyers, superfans, and paparazzi and spent time with many of the people who’ve had a front-row seat in Britney’s life,” said Azhar in a statement.

BBC’s documentary will take a look back at Spears’s rise to stardom, but it will mostly focus on her conservatorship and the uproar that surrounds it. The project still doesn’t have a release date, but it’s expected to initially premiere on BBC Two.
