]]>A new decade might have started, but Carrie Underwood’s reign as CMA Awards host has come to an end.
Underwood first hosted the show in 2008, and has served as its host for the past 12 years. On Monday, she took to Instagram to announce that she is stepping down from her hosting duties.
“One of the highlights of 2019 and of my entire career so far was being on stage with the legends that are Reba and Dolly Parton,” Underwood said in her post. “I’m so proud that we could celebrate the incredible female artists that are part of the legacy of country music, past, present and future, and I’m thankful for the huge audiences all over the world that tuned in to see it. It’s hard to believe that it was my 12th year hosting and I will always treasure every show, from the 11 that I was so lucky to do with my partner in crime and friend for life, Brad Paisley, to sharing the stage with two of my all-time heroes. I’m so incredibly grateful to everyone involved with the CMA Awards all these years.”
For the first 11 years of her duties, she shared the reins with Brad Paisley. This year, after Paisley stepped down from his hosting duties, she shared duties with Dolly Parton and Reba McEntire.

]]>The “Cry Pretty” singer acted like a champion as she delivered her second child with husband Mike Fisher.
Carrie has been extremely open about her past pregnancy ordeals, revealing that she suffered 3 miscarriages in 2 years.
“We got pregnant early 2017, and it didn’t work out. It happens. And that was the thing in the beginning — it was like, ‘Okay, God, we know this just wasn’t your timing, and that is all right. We will bounce back and figure a way through it,’” she said on CBS Sunday Morning last September. “Got pregnant again in the spring, and it didn’t work out. Got pregnant again early 2018 — didn’t work out. So, at that point, it was just kind of like, ‘Okay, what’s the deal? What is all of this?’”
But the American Idol winner has now welcomed her second son and brother 3-year-old Isaiah!
Named Jacob Bryan Fisher, the newborn is clearly already adored by his family who have described him as a gift from the Lord.
Love wins!

]]>One of the fellow artists present during Underwood’s ceremony was country star Brad Paisley, who described her as this generation’s Dolly Parton. Her American Idol mentor Simon Cowell also wouldn’t miss this for the world – he was the one who presented her with the star!
The famous producer said his world turned into full color the moment Carrie Underwood walked in. He could say she’s going to do great thing, but couldn’t have predicted the magnitude of success she’s going to achieve.
“You had such an impact on the show, and had so many people come up to me and say ‘I would like a tenth of the success Carrie has.’ I actually couldn’t be more proud of you for presenting you this and you did it your way… I love you and you are a total, total star.” said Cowell.
Underwood’s family was also there to support her, and she used the opportunity to thank her husband Mike Fisher and son Isaiah Michael for believing in her and supporting her every step of the way.

She kicked things off by sharing important information about her upcoming album Cry Pretty, but the short clip quickly turned into something else. Underwood ended up revealing golden balloons, spelling out the word “BABY”.
“You might be wondering or asking, ‘Carrie, why is your tour starting in May?’ Well… Yay! Mike and Isaiah and I are absolutely over the moon and excited to be adding another little fish to our pond,” said American Idol winner.
Underwood and Fisher met in 2008 after one of her concerts. They tied the knot two years later in a beautiful ceremony, with more than 250 people in attendance. The couple welcomed their first son Isaiah Michael Fisher in February 2015.
Being a mom isn’t easy when you have a hectic schedule, but the young singer is making it work. “It’s definitely a balancing act. I have help because someone has to watch Isaiah when I’m on stage, but we live a lot more on the bus now instead of going in and out of hotels. My bus is outfitted for him — he has a crib in the back, and everything is safe there,” Underwood told PEOPLE back in 2016.
