Wilson was one of the artists competing for the biggest awards of the night: entertainer of the year and she managed to come out victorious! She defeated the likes of Luke Combs, Chris Stapleton, Carrie Underwood, and Morgan Wallen to take this award home.

Wilson was also crowned as this year’s female vocalist of the year, beating tough competition from Kelsea Ballerini, Miranda Lambert, Ashley McBryde, and Carly Pearce. Her Hardy collaboration “Wait in the Truck” won her two more awards: music video of the year and musical event of the year.

Luke Combs was also one of the biggest winners of the night, with three awards. In addition to collecting the International Artist Achievement Award, his cover of Tracy Chapman’s “Fast Car” was named both the single and song of the year.

Reba McEntire hosted the CMA Awards on several occasions in the past, and she’s getting ready to do it again. The legendary country artist will be in charge of hosting this year’s ceremony alongside the first-time host Darius Rucker.

McEntire hosted the ceremony on several occasions during the ‘90s and made a comeback last year when she shared the hosting duties with Carrie Underwood and Dolly Parton. She’s excited to do it again, with Rucker by her side.

“I’m thrilled to be back hosting the CMA Awards and even more thrilled that I get to share the stage with Darius Rucker. We’re looking forward to a night of celebrating great country music and hope you’ll tune in and watch!” said McEntire in a statement.

Rucker called the hosting gig “an absolute honor”, especially since he’s doing it by McEntire’s side, and said he’s looking forward to celebrating this year in country music.

The CMA Awards will take place on November 11th, in Nashville, Tennessee. Miranda Lambert topped the list of nominees, with a total of seven nods.

It’s an end of an era.

A new decade might have started, but Carrie Underwood’s reign as CMA Awards host has come to an end.

Underwood first hosted the show in 2008, and has served as its host for the past 12 years. On Monday, she took to Instagram to announce that she is stepping down from her hosting duties.

“One of the highlights of 2019 and of my entire career so far was being on stage with the legends that are Reba and Dolly Parton,” Underwood said in her post. “I’m so proud that we could celebrate the incredible female artists that are part of the legacy of country music, past, present and future, and I’m thankful for the huge audiences all over the world that tuned in to see it. It’s hard to believe that it was my 12th year hosting and I will always treasure every show, from the 11 that I was so lucky to do with my partner in crime and friend for life, Brad Paisley, to sharing the stage with two of my all-time heroes. I’m so incredibly grateful to everyone involved with the CMA Awards all these years.”

For the first 11 years of her duties, she shared the reins with Brad Paisley. This year, after Paisley stepped down from his hosting duties, she shared duties with Dolly Parton and Reba McEntire.
