The post Maren Morris and Zedd Reunite for New Collaboration “Make You Say” appeared first on EverydayKoala.
]]>Zedd started plotting this song with Bernie and Johan Yang of Beauz three or four years ago. Once they liked what they came up with, Zedd sent the song to Morris and it really started taking shape once she agreed to come on board.
“Maren recorded a demo of it and sounded phenomenal, so I met her in Nashville, and we recorded the final vocal to ‘Make You Say’ and she took the song to a whole new level. ‘Make You Say’ is the kickoff of a new chapter for me and I can’t wait for the world to hear it,” Zedd told Billboard.
Morris said it was “such a thrill ride” to collaborate with Zedd on this track and she especially enjoyed the process of filming a music video because it involved elaborate choreography and animation.
This marks the first collaboration between Zedd and Morris since 2018 when their crossover hit “The Middle” came out. In addition to peaking at No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, this song received three Grammy nominations including record and song of the year.

]]>Morris decided to make this difficult decision “with the prospect of, yet again, rescheduling half of the dates already becoming a reality.” Instead of making another shift, she offered a full refund to her fans and said she’s hoping they’ll be able to “come together and enjoy live shows safely again soon”.
The country star also added she’s in the midst of working on her third record, a follow-up to her 2019 album Girl. In addition to topping Billboard’s top country albums chart, this album produced a crossover smash hit “The Bones”, which found an even bigger commercial success in 2020.
In addition to ruling the radio waves this year, this single won both song and single of the year awards at this year’s CMA Awards. Morris also scored the award for female vocalist of the year at this ceremony, and went on to receive a Grammy nomination for the best country song with “The Bones”.
