]]>An interview with Knight was featured in the Christmas double issue of Radio Times magazine, and he shared some good news with the fans of Peaky Blinders.
“I’m just working on the final bits of it at the moment. I just sit down at the keyboard and start. It’s a bit like having a dream, for me. You sit there and all this stuff comes, and then you read it back and think, ‘That’s pretty good – but where did it come from?’” said Knight.
He added that he’s planning to start shooting the sequel in the middle of 2024, but there’s still no official production or release date for this project. It’s also unclear who’ll return for the sequel, but the show’s leading man Cillian Murphy said he “would love to do a movie if there’s more story to tell.”
Peaky Blinders chronicled the adventures of the fictional gang Peaky Blinders, who ruled Birmingham with an iron fist in the wake of the First World War. The show’s ensemble cast also included Helen McCrory, Paul Anderson, Sophie Rundle, Joe Cole, Sam Neill, Annabelle Wallis, Tom Hardy, Adrien Brody, Anya Taylor-Joy, and Stephen Graham, among others.

]]>Wednesday offered a modern spin on The Addams Family, with Jenna Ortega in the titular role. It became an overnight sensation after it premiered on Netflix in late 2022 and became the streamer’s most popular English-language show of all time.
Netflix is now reportedly plotting a spin-off series about Uncle Fester, played by Fred Armisen. Bloomberg reports that there’s no guarantee this series could ever happen because the scheduling and contracts are yet to be negotiated, but the streamer is eager to build off the success of Wednesday and develop new projects in The Addams Family universe.
Bloomberg also reports that Netflix is eying two spinoffs of the acclaimed crime drama Peaky Blinders, which ran for six seasons on BBC before ending its run in 2022.
While the original series was set in Birmingham in the aftermath of the First World War, one of the spin-offs would take us to 20th-century Boston. The second spin-off set in the Peaky Blinders universe would center on Polly, the matriarch of the Shelby family, played by the late Helen McCrory in the original series.

]]>After six seasons, the Cillian Murphy-led series aired its final episode in April. The finale had a run-time of 1 hour and 21 minutes which served as a dry-run for the upcoming feature film spin-off.
Creator Steven Knight has been hard at work on the forthcoming flick, and the good news is that we now have an end date in sight.
“I’m nearly done writing it,” Knight said during a radio interview with Heart FM in the UK. “We’re going to shoot it at the studios in Digbeth, and on location in Digbeth in Birmingham. Digbeth and Small Heath [are] where the Peaky Blinders actually roamed, so it’s like Peaky is coming home. We’re hoping we’ll be shooting within 18 months.”
The movie will be the untold story of what happened in the Second World War, in which the Peakys are going to be involved.
Knight has remained mum on which members of the cast will be returning for the film, only saying, “There’s going to be some familiar faces and new faces that will hopefully be quite surprising.”

]]>It was announced in January that the forthcoming sixth season of the Birmingham-based series would be its final outing, but that doesn’t mean we’ll be seeing the last of the Shelby clan.
Creator Steven Knight has confirmed that a Peaky Blinders feature film will begin production in 2023. Naturally, it be set and filmed in Birmingham.
“And that will probably be the sort of the end of the road for Peaky Blinders as we know it,” Knight said at the BFI London Film Festival.
Although there are rumors of a spin-off to the show starring Cillian Murphy, Helen McCrory, Paul Anderson, Sam Neill, Tom Hardy, Aidan Gillen, and Anya Taylor-Joy, amongst others, Knight has said that he would prefer to “pass the baton” should they go ahead.
A release date for the sixth season of Peaky Blinders has yet to be announced.

]]>McCrory’s passing was announced by her husband and fellow actor Damian Lewis, who said she died after a “heroic battle with cancer” and added she spent her last days surrounded by a wave of love from friends and family.
“She died as she lived. Fearlessly. God we love her and know how lucky we are to have had her in our lives. She blazed so brightly. Go now Little One, into the air, and thank you,” wrote Lewis in the official statement.
Many of McCrory’s colleagues celebrated her legacy and shared heartwarming stories of their time working together. The tributes were led by her Peaky Blinders co-star Cillian Murphy, Harry Potter castmates Tom Felton and Jason Isaacs, and author J.K. Rowling.
McCrory was best known for playing Polly Gray on Peaky Blinders and Narcissa Malfoy in the Harry Potter franchise. Her career spanned three decades, and also included roles in the TV shows North Square and Penny Dreadful, and the movies The Queen, The Special Relationship, and Hugo.

]]>Creator Steven Knight released an official statement revealing what the new season of this critically acclaimed crime drama has in store, while also revealing it will be its last.
“Peaky is back and with a bang. After the enforced production delay due to the Covid pandemic, we find the family in extreme jeopardy and the stakes have never been higher. We believe this will be the best series of all and are sure that our amazing fans will love it,” stated Knight.
He concluded his statement by saying that “the story will continue in another form”. It’s still unclear what that means at this point in time, but executive producer Caryn Mandabach also added that “the world of Peaky Blinders will most definitely live on.”
Peaky Blinders premiered on the BBC in 2013 and found a new audience after making its way to Netflix. It follows the exploits of Birmingham’s fictional Shelby crime family in the aftermath of the First World War, and its ensemble cast is led by Cillian Murphy.

]]>The videogame is titled Peaky Blinders: Mastermind and has been adapted from the popular gangster TV series. The game will feature characters from the show and will be a strategy game.
The game will be available on PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch. Pre-orders will be available from July 30 and the game will be officially released August 20.
The official game description reads: “The game taps directly into Tommy’s talent for planning complex scenarios in his head, with players forming strategies by taking control of key members of the Shelby family down on the ground”.
Game director James Marsden clarifies: “There’s a point in the show where Tommy Shelby explains he has no concern for the past, nor the future; all he cares about is a crucial moment he calls the ‘soldier’s minute’.
“We designed our game around that idea, allowing the player to plan actions backward and forward in time, choreographing an ensemble cast of characters [Arthur and Polly included] to synchronize their actions during these crucial moments.”

]]>The sixth and final season of the British gang drama is one of the most highly-anticipated TV events of the year. Knight has been keeping details on the upcoming season under wraps, until now.
Speaking in an interview on the official Peaky Blinders website, Knight teased that the new season will explore the “supernatural” elements to the show. If you are up to date with the show, you’ll know that gypsy curses and psychic visions are not entirely new territory for the Shelby clan.
“I also like the supernatural element. ‘Is Tommy cursed?’ In other words, is everything predestined, are lives already mapped out? Do you have free will or not?” Knight said in the interview.
“Tommy sometimes feels that he doesn’t because it seems that everything is destined to stop him or move him in a particular direction. It’s the same with the whole family. I explore that more in the next series.”
Peaky Blinders season 6 has an expected release date of summer 2021.

]]>The popular gangster saga was due to wrap up filming around about now. Due to the Covid-19 outbreak, filming was not able to take place in March as planned. Speaking with Digitial Spy, Byrne has revealed that filming most likely will not resume until 2021.
“In an ideal world it would be great to be prepping again towards the end of the year with a view to start shooting early next year,” he revealed. “That feels achievable, whether that’s true or not, I have no idea. If we did start shooting in January (2021), we wouldn’t finish until May or June and then it’s another 6 months of editing.”
If this is the case, then season six will be released at the end of 2021 at the earliest and more realistically, we will have to wait until 2022.
In the interview, Byrne also discussed how social distancing rules will impact filming. By the sounds of it, he already has a pretty good idea of how the new distancing rules will be implemented on set.
He explained: “We have a pretty good idea of how we are going to achieve those scenes, whether it’s intimacy or fighting… there’s definitely a way to do it and that’s what a lot of this downtime has been about.”
