The post Extended Version of “Spider-Man: No Way Home” Coming to Theatres in September appeared first on EverydayKoala.
]]>The re-release of the hit movie will celebrate 60 years of Spider-Man comic book and 20 years of Spider-Man on film. It will hit the theatres under the name Spider-Man: No Way Home – The More Fun Stuff Version on Labor Day weekend, starting on September 2.
The extended version will be shown in the US and Canada, but more countries are expected to be added soon. The official run-time of this project remains a mystery, but the original movie was 148 minutes long.
Spider-Man: No Way Home introduced the concept of the multiverse in the MCU, and brought back many heroes and villains from the previous movies, including former Spider-Man actors Andrew Garfield, and Tobey Maguire.
Spider-Man: No Way Home made quite a splash when it hit the theatres in December last year, and it went on to earn $1.9 billion worldwide. It’s already the sixth-highest grossing film worldwide and the third-highest-grossing film domestically, but it could soar even higher following the release of the extended version.

]]>No Way Home netted $253 million in the United States and Canada, an additional $334.2 million in other territories. Its worldwide total places it right behind Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, and the domestic total is close to surpassing Infinity War.
Sony’s chairman and CEO Tom Rothman said that No Way Home’s box office performance reaffirms the unmatched cultural impact that exclusive theatrical films can have, even in the face of many challenges.
“All of us at Sony Pictures, are deeply grateful to the fabulous talent, both in front of and behind the camera, that produced such a landmark film. Thanks to their brilliant work, this Christmas everyone can enjoy the big screen gift of 2021’s mightiest Super Hero,” said Rothman in a statement.
Spider-Man: No Way Home hit theaters on December 17. It sees Tom Holland’s Peter Parker deal with the aftermath of his secret alter-ego as Spider-Man being revealed to the entire world with the help of Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch).

]]>After having his identity revealed at the end of Spider-Man: Far From Home, Peter Parker (Tom Holland) turns to Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) for help. He tries to use magic to restore his secret identity, but the botched spell ends up breaking the multiverse open, allowing villains from alternate realities to reemerge.
Some of those villains happen to be Electro, Doctor Octopus, and Green Goblin, played by the actors from the previous Spider-Man installments – Jamie Foxx, Alfred Molina, and Willem Dafoe. Thomas Haden Church and Rhys Ifans are also expected to return as Sandman and Lizard.
Spider-Man: No Way Home will also see Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Jon Favreau, and Marisa Tomei reprising their roles from the previous two Spider-Man movies. The film is scheduled to be released on December 17th. It marks the end of Holland’s contract with Marvel and he’s treating it as “the end of a franchise”, but he’s open to returning to the role again if asked.

It also confirms the speculated multiverse plot which brings together Holland with previous villains of previous Spider-Man cinematic franchises including Alfred Molina’s Doctor Octopus, Jamie Foxx’s Electro, and Willem Dafoe’s Green Goblin.
Parker’s true identity was revealed in the final moments of the most recent sequel. Now that he’s been exposed, Parker’s life has become chaotic. Spider-Man tries to come up with a supernatural solution and he turns to Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) for a spell to undo the reveal. This results in Parker and Strange being sent into the multiverse and facing danger.
Zendaya will be reprising her role as MJ, Jacob Batalon is returning as Ned Leeds, Marisa Tomei as Aunt May, Benedict Wong as Wong, and Jon Favreau as Happy Hogan. Jon Watts will be returning to direct his third installment in the Holland-led series.
