The post “Minx” Cancelled by HBO Max Amid Slate Review, Several More Shows Pulled From the Streaming Service appeared first on EverydayKoala.
]]>The comedy series led by Ophelia Lovibond and Jake Johnson was well into the filming of its second season, set to wrap up this week. Its co-creator Lionsgate TV released an official statement thanking HBO Max for their “good partnership”, and said they’re working on finding a new home for Minx, so current and new viewers can continue this journey with them.
Minx is only the latest in the long line of shows to be pulled from HBO Max as the streamer goes through the slate review. They previously pulled Gordita Chronicles from its platform, followed by the removal of Anna Kendrick’s Love Life, which just happened to be HBO Max’s first original scripted show.
The Joss Whedon-created The Nevers has also been removed from HBO Max in the middle of its first season, but the biggest shocker came when the streamer decided to pull Westworld, as well. This sci-fi series is one of its most recognizable projects in the past few years, and it will likely resurface on some other streaming platform.

In addition to Wood, Thompson, and, Harris, the new trailer teases the return of Bernard (Jeffrey Wright), Maeve (Thandiwe Newton), and Caleb (Aaron Paul). This trailer dropped many hints about Season 4, but Westworld certainly has many more surprises in store that we’ll get to witness when the new season premieres on June 26 on HBO.

]]>The new trailer also reveals a little bit of the world’s history that led to the development of the dystopian theme park. It begins with events happening in out time, such as the demonstrations in Hong Kong and continues to reveal future catastrophic events such as a new civil war in Russia and a thermonuclear incident in Paris. The trailer tells us that humanity was blindly stumbling from one disaster to the next until the year 2039, when a “system” was created in order to save humanity.
“Up until now, the system was working, but there’s someone we haven’t accounted for: You,” the trailer ends.
We already know from past teasers that the show will move out of the theme park to address the world in general. Former trailers have revealed a new character played by Aaron Paul and the big corporation Incite that operates in this future.

“They are 100 percent hands-on,” Bloys said. “We have deals with them for a potential fourth and fifth season. So the deal with them [at Amazon] is for, I believe, everything but Westworld. And they’re very committed to Westworld. So I’m not worried about losing their focus, they don’t lose focus.”
Hear that? A potential season 4 and 5!
As for when we can expect season 3? “First half of 2020,” Bloys said.
