]]>Young Sheldon took us to the fictional town of Medford, Texas during the ’90s and centered on the younger version of Jim Parsons’s iconic sitcom character Sheldon Cooper. Iain Armitage replaced him in the titular role, while the supporting cast included Zoe Perry, Lance Barber, Montana Jordan, Raegan Revord, and Annie Potts.
Amy Reisenbach, president of CBS Entertainment, confirmed its cancelation, adding that this prequel series proves that lightning can strike twice, and expressed gratitude to its cast and crew.
“We extend a sincere thank you to executive producers Chuck Lorre, Steve Molaro and Steve Holland and the entire writing and producing teams for six wonderful seasons. We look forward to seeing their final season unfold and giving it a proper sendoff with the best episodes yet for their fans to enjoy,” said Reisenbach in a statement.
The final season of Young Sheldon will feature a total of 14 episodes, airing weekly on CBS. It will premiere on February 15, 2024, while the series finale is expected to air on May 16, 2024.

]]>Director Mark Cendrowski has suggested that Young Sheldon is not the only spin-off on the cards. In addition to the Sheldon Cooper prequel, the directors have spoken about the possibility of the characters returning for a “continuation” of the original series.
“If in five years Chuck Lorre [The Big Bang Theory creator) decided to bring back some characters and try something again, I would love to be involved. It would be just a continuation,” he told Forbes. “There’s plenty to explore with their lives and characters moving forward. That said, it would have to be its own show with its own reason for being.”
Cendrowski also said that the “continuation” would likely happen a few years down the line rather than in the near future.
“I think the idea of letting things percolate a little, and you don’t want to cash in,” he explained. “That doesn’t mean that won’t happen and, in a couple of years, maybe it’s a character or a couple of characters that catch up within a couple of years. Who knows if it will happen.”
In the meantime, season three of Young Sheldon will air on CBS September 26.

Thom Sherman, the network’s senior executive vice president of programming, added: “The Coopers are portrayed by an amazing cast, and we are looking forward to having the gifted writing staff mine even more of Sheldon’s hilarious backstory and the warm family dynamic that has made this comedy a favourite with audiences for the past two seasons.”
The good news gets better as the show has not just been renewed for a third season but a forth as well. This means the show will continue to air until at least 2021.

]]>The CBS comedy, which is in its final season, will finally feature the crossover fans have been waiting for with three of the show’s stars making cameos as their characters. Back in August Warner Bros. announced that it will be ending the longest-running multi-camera series in TV history this spring.
“We are forever grateful to our fans for their support of The Big Bang Theory during the past 12 seasons. We, along with the cast, writers, and crew, are extremely appreciative of the show’s success and aim to deliver a final season, and series finale, that will bring The Big Bang Theory to an epic creative close.”
According to Entertainment Weekly, during a December episode of The Big Bang Theory, Young Sheldon’s Iain Armitage (Sheldon), Lance Barber (George) and Montana Jordan (Georgie) will appear as their spinoff characters.
It’s unclear how the crossover will be worked out considering Young Sheldon takes place almost thirty years prior to the setting of Big Bang. With CBS and producer Warner Bros. TV keeping details under wraps, fans will just have to wait and see.

]]>The producers revealed that we will get to meet the grownup version of Georgie during the final episode of season 11 which will feature Sheldon and Amy’s wedding. Laurie Metcalf will also reprise her role of Sheldon’s mother Mary and will be the one to walk Sheldon down the aisle. It wasn’t revealed whether his sister Missy or his beloved Meemaw (grandmother Constance) will be attending the wedding as well.
Although the finale of season 11 wasn’t written yet, the producers promised that few pre-wedding traditions will be there including unconventional bachelor and bachelorette parties.
“They don’t go the way you think they would go,” added Kaley Cuoco (Penny).
The Big Bang Theory has been officially renewed for season 12 in March 2017, with a strong chance that more seasons could follow. CBS’ boss Leslie Moonves recently spoke about the future of the series saying that he hopes it will end up having more than 12 seasons.
“I hope it goes beyond that” Moonves said. “In my book, Everybody Loves Raymond left three years too early. You want to leave on top, but you also don’t want to leave money on the table.”
