Even though The Big Bang Theory is coming to an end this year after twelve seasons, the good news is that Young Sheldon will continue. This means that although Jim Parsons is no longer on our screens, his voice will still be used as the narrator in the spin-off series.

Kelly Kahl, the president of CBS Entertainment, said in a statement: “Thanks to Chuck Lorre’s and Steve Molaro’s outstanding creative leadership, Young Sheldon has been a powerful performer for the network with an audience that towers over most of the television landscape.”

Thom Sherman, the network’s senior executive vice president of programming, added: “The Coopers are portrayed by an amazing cast, and we are looking forward to having the gifted writing staff mine even more of Sheldon’s hilarious backstory and the warm family dynamic that has made this comedy a favourite with audiences for the past two seasons.”

The good news gets better as the show has not just been renewed for a third season but a forth as well. This means the show will continue to air until at least 2021.
