We know what Taika Waititi has been doing in the shadows. The New Zealand filmmaker is a newlywed after reportedly getting hitched to Rita Ora.
The pair first sparked romance rumors in April last year after Taika appeared in one of the “Let You Love Me” singer’s Instagram posts. In the photo, the Thor: Love and Thunder director can be seen embracing the artist who captioned the post, “Good times, memories, random things on my phone and the ones I love.”
Although the pair attended the world premiere of RuPaul’s Drag Race Down Under together at the Sydney Opera House a week later, their official carpet debut as a couple only came in August 2021 at the Los Angeles premiere of Suicide Squad 2.
According to reports, the lovebirds made things even more official during an intimate ceremony in London where they said their “I do’s”.
“Despite living in the spotlight, Rita is determined to keep the relationship as private as possible and didn’t want to make a big song and dance about the wedding,” claimed a source. “A big, showbiz-style bash is planned to celebrate, but don’t expect to see it being flogged to the highest-bidding magazine.”
The newlyweds have been spotted wearing gold wedding bands, with Rita supposedly planning to go by the name Mrs. Waititi-Ora.
This marks the singer’s first marriage and the second for the Oscar winner who has two daughters with his ex-wife, Chelsea Winstanley.
