“Take Two” Canceled After One Season On ABC

Rachel Bilson and Eddie Cibrian in "Take Two"

ABC has canceled Take Two after just one season.

Variety reports that there will be no second season for the crime dramedy, which starred Rachel Bilson and Eddie Cibrian. Take Two premiered in June and aired its 13th and final episode in September. New of the cancellation comes two months after the series wrapped its first season run.

Take Two hailed from creators Andrew W. Marlowe and former Castle exec producer Terri Edda Miller. It received a straight-to-series order at ABC last November. According to the outlet, the series never managed to garner a considerable viewership, averaging 2.71 million total viewers, which made it one of the lowest-rated series of the summer season.

The series followed Bilson as Sam, the former star of a hit cop series fresh out of rehab following an epic bemder. Desperate to restart her career, she talks her way into shadowing private investigator Eddie (Cibrian) as research for a potential comeback role. But things don’t work out quite as planned when after the press publicizes Sam’s role in solving a high-profile case, Eddie finds his phone ringing off the hook with new clients looking to hire the duo.

The series also starred Aliyah O’Brien, Xavier de Guzman, and Alice Lee.
