This year’s BET Awards is less than two weeks away, and we finally know who will be hosting the festivities. Taraji P. Henson, who won multiple BET Awards in the past, is set to host the ceremony when it returns to Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.

In an official statement announcing her hosting duties, the Empire star described the BET Awards as a “celebration of Black creativity, art, and excellence” and said she’s honored to be a part of this year’s ceremony.

“Returning live, this year’s show will be unlike anything we have ever seen before, and I am honored to be sharing the stage with so many powerful and prolific women in music and entertainment. The BET Awards will once again be at the forefront of Black culture,” said Henson.

The theme of this year’s BET Awards is “Year of the Black Woman”, with Queen Latifah receiving the show’s Lifetime Achievement Award. DaBaby and Megan Thee Stallion topped the list of nominations with seven nods each, while Cardi B and Drake were right behind with five. The BET Awards will take place on June 27th at LA’s Microsoft Theater.
