Taron Egerton is no stranger to leading tense crime movies, and he has another one on the way! The Golden Globe-winning actor landed the lead role in the big screen adaptation of Jordan Harper’s novel She Rides Shotgun.

She Rides Shotgun centers on ex-con Nate, who made some powerful enemies during his time in prison. He cuts ties with his old crew after his release in an attempt to make a fresh start, but the gang retaliates by putting a hit on his family.

His life gets even more complicated when he decides to go on a run with Polly, his shy 11-year-old daughter whom he hardly knows. He must teach her all the skills she needs to survive, while also learning to love unconditionally as they form a special bond while battling for their future by each other’s side.

Nick Rowland (Calm With Horses) will be in charge of directing this crime thriller, while Ben Collins and Luke Piotrowski (The Night House) wrote the screenplay. The film received an interim agreement from SAG-AFTRA, with the production kicking off in early 2024.

Egerton played video game designer Henk Rogers in the Apple TV+ original Tetris earlier this year, and he’ll next appear in the action thriller Carry-On alongside Jason Bateman.
