A Little Shop of Horrors remake is in the making and the casting is apparently underway. It is difficult to recast two of the most iconic characters of the ’80s but two major names are in talks for the leading parts.

Full Circle Cinema reports that Taron Egerton may play the lead part of Seymour Krelborn – a part that was played by Rick Moranis in the 1986 movie. Scarlett Johansson is in talks to fill Ellen Greene’s shoes as his beloved Audrie.

Egerton starred in Kingsman: The Secret Service and its sequel and won the Golden Globe for his portrayal of Elton John in Rocketman. Scarlet Johansson got great reviews this year for her parts in Marriage Story and Jojo Rabbit.

The new remake was announced in 2016. It will be directed by Greg Berlanti and written by Matthew Robinson, and it will be the third movie adaptation of the story. The original horror film was released in 1960 by Roger Corman and it was remade in 1986. In 1982, it was adapted to an off-Broadway musical by Alan Menken and in 2003 it hit Broadway with Hunter Foster and Kerry Butler as the leading couple.

Billy Porter is currently rumored to voice the murderous plant Audrie II.
