“Lavender Haze” emerged as one of the fan favorites from Taylor Swift’s latest album Midnights and it was just a matter of time before it got its own music video. The whimsical visual for this song is here, and it perfectly encapsulates its dreamy lyrics.

The video opens with Swift lying in bed next to her love interest, played by Laith Ashley, only to be engulfed in lavender mist after waking up. Lavender flowers, koi fish, and bright purple clouds are a common motif in the video, which ends with Swift pushing down the walls of her room, only to stay alone floating on a cloud, with koi fish swimming around her.

The psychedelic visual perfectly conveys the feeling of being head over heels in love that Swift tried to capture through the song’s lyrics.

“If you were in the lavender haze, then that meant that you were in that all-encompassing love glow – and I thought that was really beautiful. And I guess, theoretically, when you’re in the ‘Lavender Haze’ you’ll do anything to stay there and not let people bring you down off of that cloud,” she explained on social media.

“Lavender Haze” was released as the second single from the tenth studio album Midnights, and it debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 following its release, behind “Anti-Hero”.
