Is there anything that Taylor Swift can’t do?!
The superstar may be best known for her singing and songwriting skills, but she is now set to add “feature film director” to her vast resumé. The “Anti-Hero” singer is no stranger to the big screen as she has previously appeared in Cats, Valentine’s Day, and The Giver.
Last year, Swift directed All Too Well: The Short Film to accompany her song of the same name, picking up the awards for Best Direction and Video of the Year at the 2022 Video Music Awards. That experience will serve her well as she now takes on her first full-length project.
According to reports, the 32-year-old singer has written an original script, though details about the plot and casting remain under wraps. She will helm the film that will be produced by Searchlight Pictures which is responsible for award-winning movies like The Shape of Water, The Grand Budapest Hotel, and Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri.
“Taylor is a once in a generation artist and storyteller. It is a genuine joy and privilege to collaborate with her as she embarks on this exciting and new creative journey,” stated joint presidents of Searchlight, David Greenbaum and Matthew Greenfield.
