After topping the charts and breaking records with her surprise album Folklore this summer, Taylor Swift is ready to end 2020 with a bang. She dropped its “sister record” Evermore only a few hours after announcing it and she promoted its release with the new single “Willow”.

Swift explained the decision to drop a brand-new album only months after Folklore came out was made because she loved the escapism of writing “these imaginary/not imaginary tales” and its successor allowed her to do it all over again.

“To put it plainly, we just couldn’t stop writing songs. To try and put it more poetically, it feels like we were standing on the edge of the folklorian woods and had a choice: to turn and go back or to travel further into the forest of this music. We chose to wander deeper in,” she wrote on Instagram.

Evermore came out on December 11th, and Swift celebrated its release by dropping a self-directed music video for the lead single “Willow”. The dreamy visual ties directly to her previous music video for “Cardigan” and features an appearance from Taeok Lee.

Evermore comes with a total of 15 tracks, and an additional two on the deluxe edition of the album. She collaborated with several other artists on this record, including Haim, The National, and Bon Iver.
