Taylor Swift’s new album gave us a lot of gems, and “The Men” is the latest song she released as a single. She gave us another reason to love this track when she shared an amazing performance from Paris that sees her singing the song in front of a live audience.
It’s a stripped-down performance that involves nothing but a single spotlight, an acoustic guitar and Swift’s powerful voice. The video was filmed during her “City of Lover” one-off concert in Paris, which took place on September 9th last year.
The 10-time Grammy-winning artist wrote this song as her way of highlighting how difficult it is for women to succeed in the world and wondered if her experience in the music industry would have been different if she was a man.
“It was a song that I wrote from my personal experience, but also from a general experience that I’ve heard from women in all parts of our industry. And I think that the more we can talk about it in a song like that, the better off we’ll be in a place to call it out when it’s happening,” explained Swift.
