Taylor Swift sends her fans into a frenzy every time she shares re-recording of her old songs, but she took things to a whole new level with “Wildest Dreams”. She recently dropped a new rendition of this beloved power ballad, by why is its release such a big deal?

“Wildest Dreams” was originally featured on Swift’s fifth studio album 1989, released in 2014. She shared the new song by tweeting, “Hi! Saw you guys got ‘Wildest Dreams’ trending on TikTok, thought you should have my version” after the original single became a huge hit on this social media platform.

Swift decided to re-record her old catalog following the dispute over her masters, and already shared a new version of her second studio album Fearless earlier this year. Her decision to drop the re-released “Wildest Dreams” hints that 1989 is coming up next, but that wasn’t her original plan.

Long before dropping this song, Swift announced she’s getting ready to drop the new version of her album Red on November 19th. She unveiled a full tracklist of this record earlier this summer and teased collaborations with Phoebe Bridgers, Chris Stapleton, and Ed Sheeran.
