Taylor Swift is going for gold at next year’s Academy Awards.

According to reports, the 10-minute film which the “Wildest Dreams” singer released to accompany her song “All Too Well” will be eligible to compete at the 2023 Oscars.

The short film was both written and directed by Swift and depicts the story of the couple in the song. The singer wrote “All Too Well” about her past romance with actor Jake Gyllenhaal, detailing how the relationship went from good to bad. Although she released a five-minute version of the track in 2012, she re-released a 10-minute version when she re-recorded her Red album in 2021.

The film features Stranger Things actress, Sadie Sink, playing Her, alongside Dylan O’Brien of Teen Wolf as Him. It received a special screening at the 2022 Tribeca Film Festival and garnered five nominations upcoming 2022 MTV Video Music Awards, including Video of the Year, Best Direction, and Best Cinematography.

Because All Too Well: The Short Film premiered at the AMC Theatres in New York City and had a limited theatrical release, it qualifies for nomination in the Best Live Action Short category at the Academy Awards.

Swift is currently in talks with a top consulting firm to organise a formal Oscar consideration campaign ahead of the March 2023 awards.
