HBO Max is currently developing It prequel series Welcome to Derry, and its cast is turning out to be amazing. Taylour Paige, Jovan Adepo, James Remar, and Chris Chalk will star in the HBO Max prequel series that will take us back to Maine’s most haunted city.

Welcome to Derry hails from the franchise filmmakers Andy and Barbara Muschietti, who developed it for HBO Max alongside producer Jason Fuchs. Andy Muschietti will be in charge of directing the pilot, and he’s expected to come back to direct multiple episodes of the series.

IT is an epic story that contains multitudes, far beyond what we could explore in our IT movies. We can’t wait to share the depths of Steve’s novel, in all its heart, humor, humanity, and horror,” said Andy and Barbara Muschietti in a joint statement when the series was first announced.

Paige got her big break with the role in the indie hit Zola, and she’s attached to star in Beverly Hills Cop: Axel Foley. Jovan Adepo recently starred in Babylon, and his filmography includes the breakout role in Fences and critically acclaimed shows The Leftovers, Watchmen, and When They See Us.

James Remar’s career in Hollywood spans over four decades, and he’ll soon star in Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer and Francis Ford Coppola’s Megalopolis. Chris Chalk is currently starring on HBO’s Perry Mason, and his credits also include The Newsroom and Gotham.
