Ted Danson and Mike Schur worked by each other’s side on the set of The Good Place, and they’ll soon reunite for another promising project. Danson landed a lead role in Schur’s upcoming Netflix series The Mole Agent.

The Mole Agent is based on the Oscar-nominated documentary of the same name, directed by Chilean filmmaker Maite Alberdi. The original film centered on an 83-year-old widower who is hired by a private investigator to infiltrate a nursing home and find out if its residents are being mistreated.

Its Netflix adaptations will tell a similar story, and it will follow a retired man, Charles (Danson), who gets a new lease on life when he answers an ad placed by a private investigator and becomes a mole in a secret investigation.

Netflix ordered eight episodes of this promising series, which will be executive produced by Schur, Maite Alberdi, Morgan Sackett for Fremulon, David Miner for 3 Arts Entertainment, Marcela Santibáñez for Micromundo Producciones, and Julie Goldman and Christopher Clements for Motto Pictures.

The Mole Agent marks the first collaboration between Danson and Schur since The Good Place ended its run in 2020. The series ran for four seasons, and Danson won a Critics’ Choice Television Award for his performance, in addition to scoring three Emmy nods.
