All kind of TV shows are getting revived these days, so why not Desperate Housewives? If it was up to Teri Hatcher, who portrayed Susan Mayer on this ABC’s show, this would be a done deal.
Appearing on ITV’s panel show Loose Women, Hatcher spoke about Desperate Housewives, revealing that she would gladly return to the TV show.
“We all miss Desperate Housewives, if there was ever a chance for that to come back, would you go back?” Hatcher was asked.
“I would be the first person, yeah, I never wanted it to be over, I loved those characters,” the 53-year-old actress replied.
Unfortunately, Hatcher also added that she doesn’t think the chances of a revival are “very good.”
“Well just because of the creators, I mean it’s not the women, I think the women would probably all do it,” she explained.
Teri Hatcher isn’t the only one from the original cast that would love to see Desperate Housewives returning to television. Eva Longoria, who played the role of Gabrielle Solis on the show, recently spoke to New Beauty and said she would like to see the show return, but also downplayed the chance of that happening due to the reluctance of creator Marc Cherry.
“I wish! I love that show. I miss it every single day. I miss being Gaby. I miss being on that set. I miss everything about it.” Longoria said. “But our creator has said many times he wouldn’t bring it back. Plus, we’re all so busy. Felicity [Huffman] is always off doing some Emmy award-winning show. I’m busy with my projects. I don’t know if it will ever happen, but I’m all for the idea!”
Desperate Housewives ran for eight seasons (from 2004 to 2012) on ABC and was well received by the critics and audience. Besides Hatcher and Longoria, the main cast of the series also featured Felicity Huffman as Lynette Scavo and Marcia Cross as Bree Van de Kamp.
