“The 100” is Coming to an End

We’re heading towards the final 100

The 100 is scheduled to premiere its sixth season in just a few days’ time, with The CW confirming that season 7 will be the show’s last.

The sci-fi thriller is set 97 years after a nuclear war has destroyed civilization, with one hundred humans having been sent back to earth in hopes of repopulating the planet.

Eliza Taylor, Paige Turco, Bob Morley, and Marie Avgeropoulos have starred in all 87 episodes since 2014 and are expected to reprise their roles for the final season.

Following the news that she show would be coming to an end, creator Jason Rothenberg sent out a tweet to fans.

“With #The100 Season 6 finale just days away, I have some bittersweet news to share: Season 7 will be our last,” Rothenberg wrote. “We are eternally grateful to WB & CW for always allowing us to tell our story the way we want to and to wrap the show on our terms. What an incredible ride this has been!”

Season 6 of The 100 will begin on August 6th.
