“The 1975” is the first track from the band’s forthcoming album Notes on a Conditional Form and it features Swedish teen Greta Thunberg.

The track opens with a moving speed by the young climate activist, over a minimalistic piano track. The monologue about the current climate and ecological crisis has Thunberg saying “we must acknowledge that we do not have the situation under control and that we do not have all the solutions yet” and “to do your best is no longer good enough.”

The track, which opens the new album, marks the launch of a 28-day countdown to the first single, which will premiere a day before they headline Reading Festival, per Rolling Stone.
