Its official: the king of Wakanda is getting a sequel, but we’ll only have to wait for another few years. In the D23 Expo, the head of Marvel, Kevin Feige, and the director Ryan Coogler have revealed details about Black Panther II – its existence and its release date – May 6, 2022.

Thus, the anticipated sequel will come to light between new franchises like The Eternals and sequels in other series’ like Thor: Love and Thunder and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Feige and Coogler did not say much more about the movie, so we don’t know if its plot will be connected to other planned movies and TV shows such as WandaVision, The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, or Loki. We only know that Coogler is returning to the director’s seat.

So what will happen to the small but rich African country? We’ll have to wait and see. It’s only 3 years away.
