“The Boys” Renewed For Season 3, Sets After-Show

Amazon Prime Video has renewed the superhero and vigilante drama for a third season.

In addition, the second season will feature an after-show titled, Prime Rewind: Inside The Boys, hosted and executive produced by Aisha Tyler.

The second season of The Boys will premier on September 4 and the launch will have three episodes, with the other five episodes of the season dropping weekly through October 9. The after-show will premier on August 28 and it will look back at the series until now.

The Boys is based on the best-selling comic by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson and produced by Amazon Studios and Sony Pictures Television Studios with Point Grey Pictures, Kripke Enterprises, and Original Film.

Season 2 of the series will see the vigilantes on the run and being hunted by the superheroes. Following the explosive events of the first season finale, Hughie (Jack Quaid), Mother’s Milk (Laz Alonso), Frenchie (Tomer Capon), and Kimiko (Karen Fukuhara) are in hiding, and Butcher (Karl Urban) is off on his own. Homelander (Antony Starr) is trying to expand his power and Starlight (Erin Moriarty) is trying to find her place in the Seven. Meanwhile, Stormfront (Aya Cash) has her own agenda, which leaves Vought trying to capitalize on the nation’s paranoia.

Also starring in The Boys are Dominique McElligott, Jessie T. Usher, Chace Crawford, and Nathan Mitchell also star, with Claudia Doumit, Goran Visnijc, Malcolm Barrett, Colby Minifie, Shantel VanSanten, Cameron Crovetti, PJ Byrne, Laila Robbins, and Giancarlo Esposito.
