Amazon’s hit series The Boys has been keeping Jack Quaid pretty busy, but he managed to set some time aside to lead another amazing project. The 31-year-old actor will star in the upcoming action thriller Novocaine, the first film from FilmNation’s newly launched startup Infrared.
Novocaine centers on Nathan Caine, a young man who was born with the rare disorder CIPA aka congenital insensitivity to pain. His affliction becomes his greatest strength after his bank is robbed and his new love taken hostage, and he decides to do everything in his power to rescue her.
Dan Berk & Robert Olsen (Villains) will be in charge of directing this movie, and they can’t wait to join forces with their partners at Infrared and Safehouse.
“It’s hard to find unique access points in this genre, but this film and the unlikely hero at its heart captured our imagination right away. Shepherding this project along with Infrared and Safehouse has been incredible, and working with the absolute perfect lead in Jack Quaid is honestly a dream come true,” said the duo in a statement.
The fourth season of The Boys is yet to be announced, and Quaid’s schedule has been pretty packed in the meantime. Just this year, he played Richard Feynman in Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer, voiced Lizard in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, and led the voice cast of the animated series My Adventures with Superman.
