The award season is heating up, and the nominations for the British Independent Film Awards are finally in. Charles Dickens adaptation The Personal History of David Copperfield is leading the way, with a total of 11 nods.
This period drama starring Dev Patel, Tilda Swinton, and Hugh Laurie is closely followed by Tom Harper’s musical comedy Wild Rose, which received a total of 10 nominations. Both movies will be competing in the main category – best British independent film.
The field of nominees for the big prize also includes movies Bait, For Sama, and The Souvenir. The ceremony will take place on December 1st, with award-winning stand-up comedienne, writer and actress Aisling Bea serving as a host.
