The Chainsmokers had a chance to perform everywhere from Canada to New Zealand, and their next concert is taking them somewhere they’ve never been before. The EDM duo will soon become the first band to perform on the edge of space after joining forces with the space tourism company World View.

To make this celestial performance come to life, Drew Taggart and Alex Pall will get into a pressurized capsule tethered to a stratospheric balloon to perform around 20 miles above the Earth. This opportunity is a dream come true for the duo, and they can’t wait to make it happen.

“We have always dreamed of going to space and are stoked to collaborate with World View to have this adventure and experience. We know the views of both Earth and space are going to be incredible and inspiring and we hope to leverage this flight for creativity on future projects,” said the Chainsmokers in a statement.

Ryan Hartman, CEO of World View, hopes their journey will inspire other artists to reach for the stars, in addition to exciting younger audiences about space travel. The duo’s performance is set to take place in 2024, and it will be filmed from inside the capsule, giving viewers a chance to experience it first-hand.
