“The Crown” Releases First Look at Elizabeth Debicki, Dominic West

Netflix just released the first look at Elizabeth Debicki as Princess Diana and Dominic West as Prince Charles in The Crown.

Debicki will play Diana in Season 5, taking over for Emma Corrin, who played Diana in Season 4 when she met and married Prince Charles (Josh O’Connor) and deal with becoming famous. During this time she dealt with an eating disorder and had an affair with James Hewitt (Daniel Donskoy) after learning of Charles’ affair with Camilla Parker Bowles (Emerald Fennel).

In Season 5, the princess goes through the early ’90s with West playing her estranged husband.

Debicki’s recent work includes Tenet and she’s known for he roles in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and Widows.

West was recently in The Pursuit of Love and he’s currently filming Downton Abbey 2 and Call My Agent (UK).

Joining Debicki and West in Season 5 are Imelda Staunton as Queen Elizabeth II, Jonathan Pryce as Prince Philip, Lesley Manville as Princess Margaret, and Jonny Lee Miller as John Major.

The Crown premiered on Netflix in 2016 and it follows the British royal family through the decades, starting with the death of George VI and the coronation of his daughter, Queen Elizabeth II in 1952. Characters are recast every two seasons to show the characters’ age.
