The Crown has revealed who will be stepping into the role of Princess Margaret in season five.

It was confirmed by Netflix that Lesley Manville will be taking over the role of Princess Margaret in the upcoming season of the show. Manville will be filling the shoes of Helena Bonham Carter, who took on the role for seasons three and four. Prior to Bonham Carter’s time on the show, Vanessa Kirby portrayed the princess.

“I could not be happier to be playing Princess Margaret,” Manville shared in a statement. “The baton is being passed on from two formidable actresses and I really don’t want to let the side down. Furthermore, to play siblings with my dear friend Imelda Staunton will be nothing short of a complete joy.”

It has already been confirmed that Pride’s Imelda Staunton will be taking over from Olivia Coleman as the queen.

The fifth season of the show will be the final season and is predicted to arrive in late 2021 or early 2022.
