“The Crown” Season 3 Trailer is Finally Here

Tobias Menzies and Olivia Colman in "The Crown"

The long-anticipated first full trailer for season 3 of The Crown is here.

Netflix dropped the trailer Monday for the season that will see the British royal family go through the tumultuous and turbulent ’60s and ’70s.

“On days like today ask yourself, in the time I’ve been on the throne, what have I actually achieved,” asks Olivia Colman’s Queen in the trailer. “This country was still great when I came to the throne, all that’s happened on my watch is the place has fallen apart,” she adds.

Per the streaming services logline, season 3 will see the Queen and her family struggle to meet the challenges of a rapidly changing Britain. From Cold War paranoia, through to the jet-set and the space age –- the exuberance of the 1960s and the long hangover of the 1970s — Elizabeth and the Royals must adapt to a new, more liberated, but also a more turbulent world.

Season 3 will see Colman taking over the role of Queen Elizabeth II from Claire Foy, Tobias Menzies as Prince Charles instead of Matt Smith and Helena Bonham Carter as Princess Margaret in lieu of Vanessa Kirby.
