The CW scored another rating hit with their latest superhero-themed series Superman & Lois. After a strong premiere just a week ago, it seems like this show will be flying much longer as the network promptly renewed it for the second season.

Mark Pedowitz, chairman and CEO of The CW Network, announced the renewal in an official statement and praised the team behind this show for bringing it to life during these challenging times.

“The phenomenal multiplatform debut of Superman & Lois, which delivered for us in a big way on both a linear and streaming basis, is a testament to the creativity, hard work, and dedication of the talented people who worked tirelessly in front of and behind the camera,” stated Pedowitz.

Superman & Lois centers on the titular characters after their return to Smallville with their sons. Tyler Hoechlin and Elizabeth Tulloch, who originally played Clark Kent and Lois Lane in Supergirl, signed on to reprise their respective roles in this project. The first episode of Superman & Lois premiered on February 23, and it now joins 11 other shows recently renewed by The CW.
