Drew Barrymore proved herself as the most cheerful and carefree host on the current talk show scene, and we’re going to keep watching her for a little bit longer. The Drew Barrymore Show has been renewed for the second season by its production house CBS Media Ventures.

This talk show consists of human interest stories, celebrity interviews, and lifestyle segments. It premiered back in September, in the midst of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, but its host proved she’s up for the challenge.

“We launched this show in a pandemic, which made for a crazy, wonderful journey I never expected. This is my dream job, and I feel so lucky to get to do this for another year. I am so grateful to CBS Media Ventures and all our station partners for believing in us,” stated Barrymore in an official statement confirming the show’s renewal.

Steve LoCascio, president of CBS Media Ventures, praised Barrymore and her team for overcoming many obstacles and delivering “a big, bright, fun hour of much-needed optimism to viewers every day”. He praised The Drew Barrymore Show for embodying the host’s spirit and said they’re looking forward to bringing it back for another high-quality season this fall.
