The First “Ghostbusters: Afterlife” Trailer is Here!

Paul Rudd in "Ghostbusters: Afterlife"

A new trailer for Ghostbusters: Afterlife has dropped, revealing more details of the film’s plot.

While it’s already been confirmed that the Jason Reitman movie is a continuation of the franchise that began 35 years ago, now we learn of the deep connections the film has with the 1984 original and its 1989 sequel.

The film follows Carrie Coon, who plays Callie, and her two small kids Phoebe (Mckenna Grace) and Trevor (Finn Wolfhard), who inherit a farm in Oklahoma. They’re the family of Egon Spangler, played by the late Harold Ramis in the original two films. And while a ghost has not been seen in 30 years, it’s all too clear where the film is going when Spengler’s family finds his old Ghostbusting equipment on the farm and a green light appears below a shaft in the earth followed something otherworldly launching itself from the pit.

Paul Rudd also stars as a summer school teacher and original Ghostbusters stars Dan Aykroyd and Ernie Hudson have also confirmed that they will appear in the new movie.
