Marvel Studios just introduced the first official trailer for Ant-Man and the Wasp. The highly anticipated sequel to the 2015’s superhero movie Ant-Man continues the story of the main character after the events in Captain America: Civil War and introduces a new superhero, Wasp played by Evangeline Lilly. Ant-Man and the Wasp will be the third Marvel movie to be released in 2018, after Black Panther and Avengers: Infinity War, and will come in theaters on July 6. Ant-Man and the Wasp will certainly be different than other Marvel’s superhero movies, with this one even being described as a romantic comedy. Evangeline Lilly recently spoke about the movie and said that it could open some new possibilities for all upcoming Marvel’s superhero adventures.
“Those characters are experts in the quantum realm.” – said Lilly. “In Ant-Man and the Wasp, they are trying everything in their power to safely enter the quantum realm and return back from it because they have evidence from the first film that Scott Lang was able to do that. If he can do it, why can’t we? If we do succeed in Ant-Man and the Wasp, then that does open a whole entire new multi-verse to enter into and play around in. I’m not the story creator, so I can’t tell you what they’re going to do with that. But I definitely see the potential there.”
Peyton Reed returns as a director of Ant-Man and the Wasp, while Chris McKenna, Erik Sommers, and Paul Rudd are among the writers. Besides Rudd and Lilly, who will portray the eponymous duo, Michael Peña, Michael Douglas, and Bobby Cannavale are all set to reprise their role. Notable additions to the cast are Michelle Pfeiffer and Laurence Fishburne.
