After numerous delays, some of Marvel’s highly-anticipated projects are coming to theaters this year. Eternals is one of the most promising new movies that this studio has in store, and the first full trailer for this project gave us a taste of amazing things to come.

The new trailer offers the first look at the star-studded ensemble cast of Eternals, which features Richard Madden as Ikaris, Gemma Chan as Sersi, Kumail Nanjiani as Kingo, Salma Hayek as Ajak, Angelina Jolie as Thena, Brian Tyree Henry as Phastos, among others.

Hayek’s off-screen voiceover sets the mood for the entire trailer: “We have watched and guided. We have helped them progress and seen them accomplish wonders. Throughout the years we have never interfered, until now.”

If you’re wondering how and why Eternals came together after all this time, the official synopsis explains they’re a group of immortal heroes forced to reunite to protect humanity from their evil counterparts, the Deviants, following the events of Avengers: Endgame.

Eternals was directed by Chloé Zhao, who recently made history as the first woman of color to win an Oscar for best director with Nomadland. This superhero epic is set to hit the theaters on November 5th, as the third film from MCU’s Phase Four after Black Widow and Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.
