“The Good Doctor” Renewed for Season 3

The Good Doctor is here to stay. 

ABC has renewed the Freddie Highmore-led medical drama for another season. 

The series which follows autistic surgeon Shaun Murphy (Highmore), who overcomes personal and professional hurdles while working at San Jose St. Bonaventure Hospital will continue to Season Three. 

Currently airing its second season, The Good Doctor’s ratings are down from its freshman run. According to TVLine the series’ sophomore run is averaging 6.8 million total viewers and just over a 1.1 demo rating, down 30 and 40 percent respectively. 

The series also stars Antonia Thomas, Nicholas Gonzalez, Richard Schiff, Hill Harper, Tamlyn Tomita, Christina Chang, Fiona Gubelmann, Will Yun Lee, and Paige Spara. This season will also see executive producer Daniel Dae Kim step in front of the camera. Starring in a four-four-episode arc as the hospital’s new chief of surgery Dr. Jackson Han. 

ABC has also picked up Shark Tank and A Million Little Things for additional seasons.
