“The Handmaid’s Tale” Gets Season 5 Renewal Ahead of Season 4 Release

Blessed be the fruit, The Handmaid’s Tale has been renewed for a fifth season at Hulu ahead of its Season 4 premiere.

During its first three seasons, the drama was nominated for 54 Primetime Emmy Awards and it won 15 including best original drama series and best actress in a drama series for Elisabeth Moss.

The Handmaid’s Tale is based on Margaret Atwood’s novel of the same name and it follows the story of life in the dystopia of Gilead, a totalitarian society that was formerly part of the United States.

Elisabeth Moss, Joseph Fiennes, Yvonne Strahovski, Samira Wiley, Alexis Bledel, Ann Dowd, Max Minghella, Madeline Brewer, O-T Fagbenle, Amanda Brugel, Bradley Whitford, and Sam Jaeger star in the show.

The show is executive produced by creator/showrunner Bruce Miller, Warren Littlefield, Elisabeth Moss, Daniel Wilson, Fran Sears, Eric Tuchman, John Weber, Frank Siracusa, Sheila Hockin, Kira Snyder, and Yahlin Chang.

The show is set to return for a fourth season in 2021. While there’s no release date set, it was affirmed that it’s “coming soon”.
