We’re finally hearing more about the follow up to The Haunting of Hill House and Netflix revealed that the series will premiere this fall.

Netflix announced the news on Twitter with some first look photos from the set.

Instead of doing a follow-up to the first season, based on Shirley Jackson’s 1959 The Haunting of Hill House, showrunner Mike Flanagan has chosen to use another piece of classic literature. The Haunting of Bly Manor will be based on Henry James’ 1898 novella The Turn of the Screw, which is set in an old country mansion and follows a young woman who moves to the English countryside to care for two orphaned children and she experiences events that she can’t explain.

The series will see The Haunting of Hill House actors return, including Victoria Pedretti (Nell), Henry Thomas (Hugh), Oliver Jackson-Cohen (Luke), Kate Siegel (Theo), and Catherine Parker (Poppy) and new faces including Years and Years‘ T’nai Miller and iZombies Rahul Kohli starring.

The Haunting of Bly Manor will feature a new story and new characters as Mike Flanagan felt that the characters from The Haunting of Hill House had their story told. “We tied up all of those threads exactly how they should be,” Flanagan previously told TVLine. “I don’t really see a need to revisit those characters, even in cameos.”
