The next chapter of Jane Gloriana Villanueva’s life is about to begin — but she will not be the lead character.
With Jane the Virgin coming to an end after 5 seasons, The CW has ordered a spin-off that will be inspired by Jane’s novels.
As mentioned, Gina Rodriguez will not be the lead in Jane the Novella, but Jacqueline Grace Lopez will.
The East Los High actress will star in the anthology series which will be written by Jane screenwriter Valentina Garza and directed by Brad Silberling.
Each season of the new show will focus on one of the characters in the novella, with the first centring on an up-and-coming curator, played by Lopez, whose safe — it not boring — life is turned on its head when family secrets are revealed.
But don’t worry, Jane Villanueva fans — Rodriguez will narrate the series.
