The girl with gizmos and gadgets aplenty has finally been found!

Disney has been feeding us casting nibbles regarding its remake of The Little Mermaid, but the titular character remained a mystery.

Until now.

Getting ready to swish her tail and comb her hair with a fork is Halle Bailey.

The 19-year-old is an R&B singer who was part of the duo Chloe x Halle with her sister and will be making her feature film debut in the live-action adaptation.

“After an extensive search, it was abundantly clear that Halle possesses that rare combination of spirit, heart, youth, innocence, and substance — plus a glorious singing voice — all intrinsic qualities necessary to play this iconic role,” the film’s director, Rob Marshall, said in a statement.

Earlier this week it was announced that Jacob Tremblay and Awkwafina are in talks for the roles of Flounder and Scuttle, while Melissa McCarthy is being eyed for Ursula.

The collection is almost complete!
