After three months of show-stopping performances and shocking reveals, The Masked Singer crowned its latest winner. Medusa came out victorious at the end of the singing competition’s ninth season, but can you guess who was hiding under that mask?

The final episode of Season 9 gave us an epic showdown between Medusa and Macaw, and only one could come out victorious. Macaw rocked our world with a powerful rendition of “Hold Back the River” by James Bay and “All by Myself” by Eric Carmen, but it wasn’t enough to defeat Medusa.

She first impressed us with a cover of Sia’s “Elastic Heart” before sealing the deal with My Chemical Romance’s “Welcome to the Black Parade”. The host Nick Cannon and celebrity panelists Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg, Ken Jeong, and Nicole Scherzinger were just as shocked as the rest of us once it was revealed that Medusa and Macaw are actually singers Bishop Briggs and David Archuleta.

Following her win, Briggs performed her song “River” and said it felt amazing to win the competition with an emo anthem, considering both she and Archuleta went through an emo phase.

“When I was hearing David’s story, I was like, oh, my gosh, look at us. A couple of emo kids here on this stage, unsure of who we are, not knowing if we wanted to continue on, and we made it…. this has just been the most incredible experience,” she said after her victory.
